SPEED, SUPERCARS, MICHELIN STARS

Red Bull’s celebrating 20 years in Formula One at Goodwood Festival of Speed, 11-14 July. World debut, too, of RB17 Hypercar. Petrolheads won’t be the only enthusiasts heading to the Duke of Richmond & Gordon’s home in thousands of acres of glorious Sussex countryside. Foodies will sap up Michelin-starred Ollie Dabbous’ creations at the Surtees Pavilion. Others will inspect historic vehicles or watch those blasting up the hillside track.

PASSPORT TO PREMIUM

Adopt an Italian olive tree, and its premium certified oil is yours for life (Nudo Adopt’s organiser - Liguria-based theatre producer Katharine Doré OBE - says some guardians have been married near ‘their’ tree, many others visit). Choose your region and how much oil you want. It’s shipped worldwide in handy cans to keep out the light.  UK-registered Nudo Adopt supports small organic farmers.

ALL ABOARD

Slow travel by train has become increasingly attractive. Anantara, the global brand based in Bangkok, unveils its new Vietage by Anantara luxury rail carriage. Explore fascinating Vietnam from Nha Trang to Quy Nhon or vice versa. Vietage has six double booths, tea for two, or Bai Dai lobster and Das Lat caviar. Twelve travellers every day, all-inclusive, with complimentary head and shoulder massages thrown in.

ROCK SOLID

Stay in a semi-troglodyte room, a Sentinel Suite, hewn into the rocks at Cap Rocat, Mallorca. The centuries-old citadel fortress that has forever protected the Bay of Palma has been stylishly converted by today’s owner, astute designer Antonio Obrador. It’s so clever that wherever you are in the totally private suite, angled mirrors allow Mediterranean views. A sunset sensation is Victor Garcia’s tasting menu at La Fortaleza, atop the fortress walls.

INDULGENT DELIGHTS

Nothing like an OTT over-the-top midday snack. The Savoy’s daytime Petrossian shop is perfect for a lightning London lunch. Perhaps 30 grams of Beluga Tsar Impérial Caviar - or 125 grams if you’re feeling flush. Either size is matured by a caviarologist in the UK. Comes with toast, blinis, potatoes, crème fraiche, and salted butter. Pair with Laurent-Perrier, Blanc de Blancs Brut or La Cuvée Rosé.
