Stay Siloed

Sleep atop 1924-vintage industrial storage at Royal Portfolio’s The Silo Hotel Cape Town. Daring architect Thomas Heatherwick (New York’s The Vessel) slicing through 42 concrete silos. Below, the soaring Zeitz Museum of Contemporary African Art MOCAA, holds the breathtaking Jochem Zeitz collection – he’s ex-Puma, now Harley-Davidson. Above is the 28-room hotel, bathtubs next to 24-foot concave windows. At the two-level must-book rooftop, it’s scarlet wraps, Bordeaux burners, chilled Veuve Clicquot and Saldanha Bay oysters. No Place Like (Bulgari) Rome

There’s a white marble tub in Bulgari Rome’s 3,000 sq ft second-floor Bulgari Suite, Rubelli textiles. Overlook the Mausoleum of Emperor Augustus. Opening 9th June, Bulgari Rome’s a Citterio-Viel transformation of 1930s Fascist Italian Social Security offices. Rooftop terrace, Niko Romito fare and an Italian rare-books Reading Room. It’s a seven-minute hike to shop Bulgari, in via Condotti.

Basquiat x Warhol

Jean-Michel Basquiat and his hero Andy Warhol, disruptors both, were introduced in 1980 by Zurich art dealer Bruno Bischofberger. For three years they painted together. Paris’ Fondation Louis Vuitton exhibits Basquiat x Warhol: Painting Four Hands to 28th August. Over 300 works include 160 signed jointly. Dos Caberas, two heads, shows gaunt Warhol, wigged as a haystack, and bulbous-faced Basquiat, his hair upright as a crown.

Royal Rangers

Coronations notwithstanding, kids at Mandarin Oriental in London Hyde Park can become Royal Rangers, dressing-up gear provided. Feed horses at Hyde Park Barracks. Afternoon tea at Harvey Nichols. Presidential Suite #320 looks into Hyde Park treetops.
